To the Beloved of God,
The month of February we begin the season of Lent, also known as the “Springtime of our souls.” Not only will our Sunday Worship have a different focus as the events of Jesus life unfold and lay themselves before us as we near his suffering and death on Good Friday and the overwhelming Joy and Hope of Easter Sunday, but our midweek Lenten worship will have a unique theme this year. Our Theme this year is “Hand in Hand with Jesus.” Each week a traveling preacher from the cooperative will bring a different word of accompaniment with Jesus. You will experience 6 of the following:
The purpose is to move you into the story of Jesus from a different angle or perspective. It is our hope and prayer that we shall identify ourselves more closely with this Jesus, and be better able to serve and follow him as his disciples in this time and place.
Please be kind to our preachers. Some of them have never done this before. Be patient and understanding that they are doing their best. Each church or pair of churches will be responsible for leading their own worship service on Wednesday evenings. Special thanks to our worship leaders from each church. I am so proud of all of you as we continue to grow in faith and life by our shared experiences together.
If you would like to worship at some of the other churches during Lent for midweek supper and worship here is the schedule:
God’s blessings on you and your family as Christ’s Lenten Journey to the cross begins. May you experience hand in hand time with Jesus throughout these 40 days as you are drawn into the story of God’s grace and love in a new way.
